The Coogee Sands Hotel and Apartments may as well be built on sand, it is that close to the ocean. Of course, being so close to the water means that you can enjoy spectacular views of Coogee Beach. Of all the hotels in the Coogee area, the Sands is the closest to the beach (even if you dawdle, it takes 25 seconds at the most).
If you have a car, you will almost always get a way at Maroubra, just 5 minutes down the road. It is also worth a stroll along the scenic coastal walking track, along the rugged cliffs which pass through Clovelly, Bronte, Tamarama and up to Bondi Beach.
Cosmopolitan cafes, restaurants and bars are just a short stroll away from the hotel, many of them situated on Coogee Bay Road (you can’t miss it, look for ‘it’ strip full of backpackers, posers, and city-folk trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of inner-city life!)
