Australia is a land of extremes.
From north Queensland’s tropical rainforests and extreme humidity levels to the high altitude of Victoria’s snow-capped mountains, the Northern Territory’s barren deserts with virtually zero rainfall, through to light offshore breezes of New South Wales’ Central Coast. It’s probably fair to say that relative to most countries in the world, which generally lean towards one extreme when it comes to climate and landscape, Australia has all bases covered.
Of course, this is reflected in Australia’s offering of surf breaks. There’s long sweeping sandy point breaks, fierce hollow reef breaks, countless reliable beach break offerings, world class rocky points, river mouths, harbours, and untouched stretches of beach. Somewhere in Australia at any given moment, there will be waves. It’s up to you to get out there and find them -and hopefully Shackn might be able to help you on your Australian surf holiday mission!
