The Beach Road Hotel in Bondi is hands down the most happening pub on the Bondi strip. Almost every night you’re guaranteed to find more than a few over-excited backpackers slamming down tequila shots, amongst the smattering of locals who hang out there to enjoy the live music, views of the beach, and the general good vibe of the place.

Like anywhere in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, this place is creaking at the sides on Saturday and Sunday arvos, so be sure to keep steer clear of the occasional agro dude who’s had one too many and wants to pick a fight.
The Beach Road Hotel often kicks on into the wee hours of the morning, which is awesome, since it’s relaxed dress code allows you to stumble in from the beach mid arvo and not be required to head back home to get changed, like some of the more pretentious establishments down the road such as Bondi Icebergs and Ravesi’s.
The Beach Road Hotel also offers accommodation, last I looked, single rooms started at about $80 per night.
