Brown Sugar

Rock up at Brown Sugar early to get a table for brekky, because this little gem of a cafe is mighty popular. It’s no surprise why either, the brekky at Brown Sugar is epic! The food is absolutely awesome, the atmosphere is cosy with a few funky little touches, and it’s a great escape from the over-abundance of Bondi backpackers and over-priced cafes with it’s quiet and unpretentious location.

A couple of standouts on the breakfast menu include the asparagus and Parmesan eggs with truffle oil ($16), which have my vegetarian girlfriend going bonkers, and if you’re keen for a sweet treat, the banana bread with caramelised banana, strawberries and yoghurt (at a measly 8 bucks) is a must.
