I’m not a vegetarian by any stretch. Heck, I wouldn’t turn down a decent meat pie for breakfast, lunch and tea for a month. But a cute little vegan cafe in Bondi by the name of Funky Pies has proven that meat-free doesn’t have to be flavour-free.

Funky Pies is a sweet little cafe that has an awesome range of pies….all without a single smidgin of meat or meat products. They’re freshly made on premises. If you’re a carnivore and you’re still not sold, well you had better read on for a little taste of the menu…
First of all, meet “Funky Chunky”, likely to surpass the best ‘actual meat’ and potato pie you have ever sunk your teeth into. If you’re after less meaty flavour, and a more organic style pie, the “No Worry Curry” with chick-peas and lentils in creamy coconut curry sauce should to the trick. “Spicy Thai Pie” also pulls through with the goods, containing mushies, spinach, vege protein, and an awesome coconuty Thai sauce. Not tomato sauce needed on these bad boys! There’s also a vegan sausage roll that tastes like the real thing, and some decent fair-trade coffee to help wash it all down the hatch.
Also available are a range of lip-smacking sweet treats like carrot cake (my fave), muffins and the like.
You can eat in the cafe, fully decked out in enviro and eco -friendly adornments, or grab a takeaway treat and go and sit on the grassy hill beside beach,
If all vego gear tasted this good, I would have been converted a long time ago.

Will tarp surfing take off?

Bodhi Point Break Tshirt – Best tee ever?
All vego gear does taste as good as funky pies! You’ve just gotta buy the right brands and look in the right places like asian grocery stores and you can get anything from realistic mock pork and chicken to realistic mock cheese. As a vegan and a great lover of things like pies, cheese, chocolate and sweets like cake and muffins, i never feel like i’m missing out
